After a long drive from Cardrona we had a lovely welcome from Mel. We had booked a deluxe tree lodge for 2 nights but ended up in a deluxe tree house. These have their own hotpools on a deck which we loved even if the weather didn’t play its part! All of the deluxe units are modern, private and luxurious. We stayed in number 11, Nikau but they are all cleverly positioned amongst the native bush with views of the hills. I can confirm that the breakfast packs are delicious and the entire property is immaculate. We had a lovely dinner in the Monsoon restaurant/bar which is on-site. Well priced drinks and pub grub. Again, we enjoyed the lovely staff, particularly the barman who was knowledgeable and attentive. There are indoor/outdoor areas with open fires and we enjoyed a drink on the old leather couch. Its always a good sign when the locals have stopped in for a drink. There was nothing here not to like and we will be back, Thank you Mel and team. Note: While its sad to see the Coast so quiet and businesses closed or reduced, this is a great time to support them and visit. Franz is easy to walk around and very peaceful at the moment.
