This is my 2nd time here. First time was under the back to the future $199 package where we got a night here in a tree lodge, helicopter flight and pass to Wilderness centre in August 2020. This is an amazing package and if you haven’t already done it, I can’t recommend it enough. Not only is it an incredible bargain, but this accomodation and the 2 activities are world class and fantastic experiences. So the tree lodge accomodation was lovely. Very comfortable room, with a beautiful bed, nice bathroom and our balcony butted up to the rainforest. Wonderful views and you felt like you were alone in the middle of the rainforest. I was a bit disappointed when I realised the outside of tree lodge was green and didn’t look as nice as some of the other log cabin style of the other lodges around- but this soon disappeared when I went inside and saw the room and how close we were to the rainforest. This time I took my parents up. They did the same back to the future package but spent an extra $75 to upgrade to a deluxe tree lodge. Certainly another step up in luxury. Beautiful room, luxurious bed and bathroom. Real wow factor. They had 4 little bottles of wine, bottled water and 2 beers all complimentary. Free continental breakfast which was beautiful- muesli packs, yogurt, fruit, cute loaf of fresh bread, condiments, orange juice, petite muffins. Sitting out on the balcony overlooking the national park rainforest and mountains just really special. The only thing is unlike the tree lodge where you felt like you were by yourself in the rainforest, these deluxe lodges are like a little luxury street where you could all see each other and Although the view was like gorillas in the mist in the morning- utterly awesome- your balcony didn’t butt up to the rainforest like the tree lodge. I stayed in one of the petite ensuite double as I really just came up to give mum and dad the same awesome experience we had. I don’t recommend these rooms at all. Pay more or take a tent. They are small and uncomfortable and right by the main car park/ reception. I didn’t think I would care as it was ample for just me, but you can hear the neighbours, even them going to the toilet and small bathroom. Basin so small hard to clean teeth. Shower was good though. Pressure really good. You have to edge around the bed when you step into room as bed half a step into the room from entry. I actually got offered a free upgrade that I turned down so my fault. But mum and dad loved their experience so much we ended up staying a 2nd night. The very kind and attentive staff added me to the free continental breakfast that mum and dad got, so I just wandered over to their flash lodgings in the morning and joined them for breakfast. Again, treat yourself and do the Back to the future package as you will be hard pressed to find such a great luxury adventure at such a bargain price.
